The humility of God

The Lord calls us to humility and we must understand that somehow, what He calls us to be or be doing, He wants us to be demonstrating a certain characteristic of Himself.

So how is God humble we may ask? And when I think of our infinite God as humble, I have nothing but humility as a response.

1. He is humble in that He waits do things in this history upon us crying out for him in prayer to do – “Your will be done on earth as it is heaven.”
2. That He would even desire us to ask for something that we do not even understand what it is that we are truly asking for.
3. That he would use a person who is just clay, dust of the earth, a mere 70+ years to live to accomplish His eternal will.
4. That HE would stoop to wash one of HIS disciples feet who 3 years earlier this disciple had another teacher say about HIM – “I am not even worthy to untie His sandal straps.”

That HE, after suffering the most cruel and torturous crucifixion on the cross, continues to suffer with us, everyone who calls upon HIS name to save HE also signs up to suffer with. (Col. 1:24, Acts 9:3-5, I Peter 4:12-13, Phil 3:10-11).
