Laughter with Brotherly Love

There is nothing like this Caucasian, meat and potatoes loving, Pennsylvania small town boy whose life collides with a Hispanic, Spanish rice loving, big city Chicago boy named David. The Lord definitely has a sense of humor in our brotherly love relationship. His humorous image is born through our friendship.

I cannot thank the Lord enough for the gift of laughter at the smallest of things that takes place between this dear brother in Christ. Here is a sample of just one of the ways we communicate (via text):

David: What’s your address?
Jerome: …. AZ…
Jerome: Going into Manhattan as I text this.
David: Bring a knife.
Jerome: No need, got your mug shot, scares them all away.
David: Watch it… they still are looking for me in Chicago for being Spanish.
Jerome: So if the NYPD show up at your door today, you know who sent them.
David: And I now have your address too.

The scripture speaks of how wonderful it is for brothers who dwell together in unity. Jesus Christ makes the world of difference in these “brothers who dwell together” (even if it only by the slender line of a text message that covers hundreds of miles) and we will never cease to give Him thanks for all things He has done and is doing and will do forever more.
